We’re on a mission to introduce 100 million students to computer science

Posted on by Bright Tribe

We live in a world surrounded by technology and we know that whatever field our students choose to go into as adults, their ability to succeed will increasingly hinge on understanding how technology works. But only a tiny fraction of us are learning computer science, and fewer students are studying it than a decade ago.

That’s why a number of our academies are taking part in the Hour of Code next week (8-14 December 2014) in celebration of Computer Science Education Week. Last year, 15 million students tried computer science in one week. This year, our students will be joining them to help reach 100 million students!

The idea is that students around the world must spend an hour of coding during the week to learn how technology works and how to create software. There are lots of online resources and tutorials for beginners and pros and even unplugged tutorials so literally anyone can have a go.
