Celebrations all round for our Post-16 students
Posted on by Bright Tribe
We’re delighted to share with you the A Level results from our two Post-16 Centres – The Whitehaven Academy and Alde Valley Academy.
We have seen some fantastic results at both academies with every single student passing their A levels at Alde Valley Academy and 97% students achieving their expected grades at The Whitehaven Academy.
For The Whitehaven Academy, pass rates have improved substantially since last year, with 97% of students achieving their expected grades. This is a huge increase of 10% on the previous year’s results, with over 43% of students achieving A*-B grades at A Level.
Mr Grant, Principal of the academy, said: “These are fantastic results which are thoroughly deserved. Students have been dedicated and worked with staff and been supported by parents to achieve this success. We are particularly proud of the academy’s performance since it became part of Bright Tribe Trust. Our key aim is to improve students’ opportunities in preparation for employment or higher education and in particular to improve performance in key subjects such as English, Maths and Science. We have had a 100% A* achievement rate in Physics and 83% A*-B in Maths, a superb reflection of the work done at The Whitehaven Academy.”
Ms Fitsimmons, Vice Principal, added: “These results are a true reflection of the commitment of the students and the hard work they put in to achieve their very best. We’re so proud of them all and wish them well for whatever they decide to do next.”
Alde Valley Academy was also celebrating yesterday as it is its second year running where students have achieved a 100% pass rate at A Level, with 80% of students achieving A*-C grades and 43% achieving A*- B grades.
Miss Laflin, Principal at the academy said: “These results are a true reflection of the commitment of the students and the hard work they put in to achieve their very best. We’re so proud of them all and wish them well for whatever they decide to do next.”
Mrs Oaten, Assistant Headteacher and Head of Post-16, added: “These are fantastic results which are thoroughly deserved. Students have been dedicated and worked with staff and been supported by parents to achieve this success. We have students who have gained places at Edinburgh, Bristol, Southampton, Leeds and Liverpool universities.”
We’re extremely proud of our students’ achievements and we wish them all continued success in the future – well done everyone!
