Founder of Sport4Life and North West Regional Manager at StreetGames UK, John Dwan has a wealth of experience in the sporting education industry, working with children and young people for nearly 30 years, mostly within inner city areas on community initiatives.

By working with both organisations, John is keen to give young people an opportunity to access sport programmes and educate them on the benefits of a healthy and active lifestyle, particularly to children in deprived communities who traditionally do not get the chance to take part.

In addition to his work with Sport4Life and StreetGames UK, John is founder of the Sports Enterprise Challenge which delivers a range of sporting events across the UK, including the Urban Run and Run4Fun.

John has extensive experience as a sports coach across a number of sports , including coaching disability sport at community and elite Paralympic level

Education is close to John’s heart; he has been Chair of School Governors at Varna Community Primary School for nearly 10 years and is committee member of Manchester Outward Bound Association, as a former Outward Bound instructor and Mountain Leader John knows 1^st hand the benefits of Outdoor Education for young people.

John is looking forward to working with Bright Tribe Trust to develop its Sports and Community Participation Strategy and to create an exciting sports offer and opportunities for students and the wider community.
