ARC Group Application
The Trust Board welcomes the involvement of parents who are skilled and experienced in the following areas:
- Industry governance
- Not for profit sector governance
- Professional skills which can translate into governance such as - quality assurance, project management, systems analysis and data interrogation.
All ARC members are expected to:
- Support the Trust vision and ethos
- Exercise the highest standards of confidentiality and personal integrity
- Abide by the Trust’s Code of Conduct for Governance
- Contribute to the development of effective governance practice through sharing of professional expertise and experience
- Comply with relevant safeguarding processes – including proof of compliance with regulatory requirements relative to Disclosure and Barring Service Enhanced Criminal Record Checks
- Complete appropriate training and development activities linked to the role and remit of the ARC Group.

Terms of the role
This position is a voluntary position. Necessarily incurred expenses such as travel will be reimbursed. The majority of employers value voluntary activity of this nature as contributing to their corporate social responsibility and acknowledge the benefit to the individual in terms of professional development and many provide facilities to support such volunteering. Activity is expected to involve at least one half day per half term (6 times per year) to participate in a meeting (in person or via conference call) plus associated preparation time and could involve additional time to support specific activities.
Under current regulations, successful candidates will be identified as a Governor within the Trust’s Model of Governance and as such will be required to comply with Education Funding Agency (EFA) requirements regarding declaration of Business Interests relevant to your activities and those of any close family members and these details will be published on the Trust’s website.
Contributing to the growth and development of a school and seeing tangible improvements in the attainment and well-being of children and young people is a satisfying and important contribution to a local community.

The role of the Drive Team is to undertake and facilitate tactical and operational delivery, constructed and managed by the academy’s Principal. They may be made up of representatives from the community, parents, staff and pupils. The team will have a tactical remit to support the Principal and the academy on it’s school improvement journey, and to address matters directly relating to the four Ofsted headings of outcomes for pupils; Quality of teaching, learning and assessment; Personal development; Behaviour and welfare; and Effectiveness of leadership and management.
