Sonja has worked in school improvement for the last six years and has been instrumental in turning schools around and raising standards in all areas, particularly Year 6.

Over the years she has held a variety of roles, including: SENCO, Advisory Teacher, Deputy Headteacher, and Senior Vice Principal – running a split site academy in Sheffield’s Shiregreen area of the city.

Working with the local authority, Sonja has previously been seconded to schools in special measures that have been at risk of closure, working with headteachers, senior leaders and class teachers to raise standards in their schools.

Sonja’s expertise and experience in Year 6 led to her developing and delivering quality training on all aspects of the SATs year. She has worked as part of a collaborative group of teachers that created an E-support network to raise standards in Year 6.

Sonja has NPQH and SLE status, with a focus on collaborative practice and operational systems within leadership and management.
