Consultation Events for Werneth Primary School
Posted on by wendy.singleton
Following discussion and decisions made over time, the Governing Body of Werneth Primary School has passed a resolution to continue with the conversion process to academy status.
The school proposes to become part of Bright Tribe Trust, however the conversion is still awaiting formal approval by the Department for Education (DfE).
In the meantime, consultation has begun with staff, parents and the wider community to ensure they are fully informed of what converting to an academy means and how it affects them, and to ensure everyone has an opportunity to give their feedback.
As part of this consultation, the following events are being held at the school:
- A meeting for parents on Thursday 28th November starting at 2.30pm.
- A meeting for members of the local community on Thursday 28th November starting at 6pm (parents are welcome to this meeting if they cannot make the 2.30pm meeting).
Both meetings will be led by Jenny Colley, Chair of the Governing Body, with other members of the governing body, the school’s Headteacher and representatives of Bright Tribe Trust also attending.
There will be information available about Bright Tribe Trust and the proposed school conversion, and there will be opportunity to ask questions and give feedback on the proposal.
A questionnaire will be made available for attendees to record their views, and this will also be published on the school website in the next few days.
The school is committed to keeping parents, staff and the local community informed throughout this process and there will be regular updates via the school website as well as newsletters for parents.
